The Eastport Peninsula welcomes you to our annual Agricultural Exhibition Weekend!
About the Agricultural Exhibition
Starting 88 years ago, this event brought the community together to highlight the bounty of farmers on the Peninsula.
The Exhibition began in 1937 and ran for thirteen consecutive years. It was revived in 2001 and has continued to grow and evolve. Now in its 37th year, the Exhibition has become one of the major weekend events on the Eastport Peninsula, attracting visitors from surrounding communities as well as from other parts of the province. It celebrates our rich past as an innovative farming area and encourages interest in developing locally produced food for a healthier future.
The event expanded to include the life and work activities connected to community agriculture: preserves, baking, crafts, community meals, walks through common lanes between farms, farm machines, garden parties, music, dances, and celebration.
The Exhibition Weekend hosts 20 events and activities over two days, all run by local volunteers. This is the combined effort of 30 coordinators and co-captains, community members, and students from six municipalities and service areas: Eastport, Happy Adventure, Sandy Cove, Salvage, Burnside/St. Chad’s, and Sandringham.

Join the Organizing Committee
We usually meet at the Happy Adventure Town Hall or Holy Cross Church Hall. Meetings are 1.5 hours and happen once every two months, with a few more in the lead-up to the Exhibition weekend.
The 20 events and activities during the Exhibition are typically organized independently by Coordinators and Co-captains, with the Organizing Committee meetings more for general coordination.
